Get Started: From Your Device or Computer

From your device

Here are some tips to get started with all of Google's free* services from your mobile phone:

  1. Open your phone's Internet browser and go to mobile.google.com. Here you'll see all of the Google Mobile services available for your specific phone.

  2. Select any Google service from the list. For example, picking 'Search' will bring you to the mobile version of Google.com. After getting to Google.com (or whichever service you choose), use your browser's options menu to bookmark it as a favorite so you can quickly get back to the page later.

  3. Some services like Gmail or Maps will have a second 'Download' link that allows you to download an application version to your phone. In general, the 'app' version has more features and is faster since it's installed directly on your phone.

For example, select the Maps (Download) link to install the Maps for mobile app. After selecting the download link, simply follow the on-screen instructions to install the app. Once you're finished, go to where your phone stores applications and you'll see an icon for the one you've installed.

  4. Take Google everywhere you go!
